PARAMA BHAGAVATA MAHARAJADHIRAJA SRI SKANDAGUPTA KRAMADITYA ('Great King, Lord Skandagupta Kramaditya, the highest stage devotee [of Vishnu]' in Brahmi) Fire altar. Pieper 874. Beautifully toned. Struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.

Skandagupta's reign was plagued by tumultuous wars, which we know about from a few of his pillar inscriptions, against a Huna people - likely the Kidarites
